Looks REALLY good, frustrating to install
The media could not be loaded. I purchased (two sets) of these for my '05 E55 that I've been restoring. They're packaged well and came with a trim tool to help remove the old lights. Installation was sort of easy, sort of a mess.Like everyone has said - the cables are way, WAY too short. The way the OEM mirror lights are constructed has a sort of integrated, fixed connector exactly where it needs to go. These are a sort of loose cable that you'll spend a long time trying to get lined up. I didn't have too much trouble with the passenger side, but when I moved to the driver's side, I actually pulled a wire out of the connector because you barely have any room to make sure it's: A) Lined up, and B) pushed in all the way.In addition; I might have just been installing them wrong, but out of the 4 I ended up with, I could not find a way to make the tab not snap off. They're held in fine with the screws, but there is an air gap that I'm not really sure what to do about. My solution to the short cable was to actually buy another set (They were like $28 anyways) and scavenge the connector from the one I wasn't going to use, and solder a bit more length. Alternatively, you could probably just snip the cable in half, add length with some ~18AWG wire (I think?) and be done with it - just be mindful of which cable goes where on the connector, because they're both coated in black. After my "fix", I had no issues with the driver's side - I'd imagine as long as you're not adding like a foot of wire, you won't hit any issues.Once they're installed, they do actually look REALLY cool. They seem to blend in with the mirror really well on my car.TL;DR: Cables too short. Tab breaks easily. Looks awesome.
