So, I just got this in yesterday and was already planning on making a red curry. I love it when that happens. Anyways, I am a chef and try to make very authentic regional dishes at home. I live in a remote area, with very limited dining and shopping options so a big thank you to Amazon. This ships from Thailand and as such it took a minute to get here, know that up front and anxiously await the goodness coming your way. It is very good, I ordered it specifically to increase the heat in my personal dish. My wife and son love Thai but can't handle a lot of heat. I like mine very "authentic". So, this gives me great Thai flavors and an increasing level of heat that I enjoy. I am very familiar with dried varieties of various peppers and use many types in my business. I can taste subtle differences in types of peppers used in dried blends. This is a top quality blend of local dried peppers, herbs and seasonings. I think it is made by hand as well. I was very pleased and enjoyed this product greatly.

Package came much faster than expected. And I needed them! Very professionally sealed in two layers of tough plastic. Visually appealing! Deep red almost burgundy flakes and seeds...great balance between the two. First thing I did was to cut open a small corner and poured into my hand. Smells nutty, TASTES NUTTY and then hot. I wanted HOT this time and finally got some heat. I won't know until I cook with it how the raw heat turns into a cooked heat. But I can tell you it should make great chili oil. I go through chili's pretty quickly so I hope they have a consistent supply. I will know more when I reorder, but so far I am happy.

I am so disappointed with the product- this is actually not made from thai hot chilli at all!! NOT even a little bit hotness, tastes stale, flavorless and bland- NO HOTNESS AT ALL!! I bought it thinking that it will give me the very hot taste of thai restaurant chilli powder but SO SO DISAPPOINTED!! I demand return of my money from seller or send me the real thai very hot chilli powder! I really like very spicy and hot food and this fake thai chilli flakes are useless to me!!

I bought a large bag of this Thai Chili, it looks like crushed red peppers, but it has a distinct Thai flavor. I use this spice 2-3 times a week.

Excellent value for money. It's easy to pay much more for much less chili powder. It's about the same price as buying whole chilis, if you shop hard, the convenience is worth keeping two items on your shelf. Be aware however the since asian chili powder was not readily available in the US until quite recently, many older Thai recipes in English assume that you will substitute regular US chili powder. And not all of them will make the assumption explicit. The conversion factor is roughly three to one, or a teaspoon to a tablespoon. You can be very surprised when you first taste your dish.

It doesn't taste like thai chili, it's not hot at all and I'm use to thai chili been very spicy

The powder did not add a lot of hotness to my Thai food. Does not make a difference even if added in more quantity.
