Two volumes
As an aging entertainer, it's long been obvious that audiences in their later years know only two volumes, "too loud" and "I can't hear you". With venues ranging from living rooms to fire halls, the answer is to actually measure the audio level. This inexpensive device provides a quick check without opinion. By placing the meter at approximately the same distance from the speakers, the volume can be adjusted with consistency. Exact accuracy for my use isn't as important and being able to establish a relative set up. It will get used over 100 times this year. Can you hear me now?

Great product
Great product for the price. It does pick up a lot of the background noise tho. But it does work like it says.

Uses batteries a lot faster than I would like!
Good clear screen, readability, seems pretty accurate, good quality and easy to use. Very portable. It is very handy to have.Cons: the batteries don’t last very long, it eats up batteries pretty quick

Simple easy to use
Works really well. Best way to measure your illegal exhaust cat back over 95db lol 😂

Excellent for my child's violin practice
I had this brilliant idea to end the battle. My child's teacher is always telling them to play louder and they insist they are already playing loudly. My child's teacher wants more dynamics and my child insists they are playing dynamically. Well. I bought this and showed them that they are playing 68-72 dB for everything. My child was annoyed, lol. But with that feedback, immediately changed to a range of 55-85 dB! I'm delighted with how well that worked!

I'll keep looking
The foam tip doesn't stay on. Just tilt it and it's gone. It drains batteries pretty fast, with the ones it came with died with in a few hours. You can't see the screen unless the backlight is on. I'm not sure about accuracy, I didn't bother to test it against different else. It measures in decibels not the absolute scale so quiet room would be in the 30s which it was when I ranit at night.

Works?
I mean how do we really know this works properly! Well I use it to guide me when audio is too loud! My audio number is 75-80 decibels! So athing above that and my hearing is hurting! So it does work in that respect. Plus I used it to guide me when someone is in a close room - it helps me keep my audio room at levels that do not bother others! So it does seem to work!
