A Template In How To Write A Book To Promote Yourself, And Clues To How To Create A best Seller
I don't know the author personally. There are two ways to review this book.First, the book is very strong on giving reasons for writing a book. You find out all the uses for a book...all the ways to use a book to promote yourself, your products, your company, or services you offer. Chapter nine gives some solid information on how to create a book title and sub title that will get your book sold. Yo find out about the benefits of creating an Audiobook and using different platforms to publish your work and promote your book. The book is heavy with success stories, personal details (the author's Origin Story). But if you are buying the book to learn the actual steps to promote your book, you aren't going to get that.If I wasn't aware of the purpose of this book, I'd give it one or two stars. But I am aware of its purpose, and as an example of how to use a book to promote your services, this book is an excellent example. Study the book...how it's written..The Author tells you his personal story, just as he does in all his books. And he does it in a way that you can relate to him. Every chapter isbasically describing another benefit to writing a book...another way to use a book to promote yourself. Each chapter builds your desire to act, not just dream. The author describes how to get the reader's contact information, and then actually does what he teaches, by giving you an offer to see a free video at the end of every chapter. He describes (without much detail) how to get your book to #1 in Amazon for at least one category, and how to do it quickly. The strategy seems to work, as every book Mike Koenigs has written was an Amazon Best Seller for a short time.So looking at the book as a model to use ...if you want to write a book to promote yourself is a valuable use of time.A couple minor complaints, although not strictly about the content of the book. This book was written just two years ago. It's still listed onAmazon, and people are still buying it. But the links in the book are no longer active. These books are published on Createspace. They are print-on-demand books. The content can be changed at any time in the paperback or Kindle versions. Either the link could go to a useful site, or the links could be deleted.By taking out the links, the book would become its own dead end. You don't learn enough from the book to implement, and there is no link to getfurther (for a fee) information.I gave it four stars because the book serves as a great example in how to use a book to promote yourself, and how to construct the book itself.

It's All in the Promotion--This Book Shows How the Author Does It!
This book promises the world--but tries to sell you a spaceship to a quick shortcut to riches and fame. That isn't bad--just recognize and analyze it. The methods the writer-promoter uses are akin to a long TV informercial, as are the videos which you get free but mostly follow the book.Yet, for the cost (perhaps free or 99 cents) it's worth the perusal. Pay attention to the methods of persuading you that the author uses. That in itself can profit you in learning promotion. There are also practical bits of advice here and there which are worth noting. But, as the author states, "Think of a book as a fun, informative, storytelling sales letter (when it's done right)." So if you want to make money, then you'll find this book quite helpful in how it's done. If you want to be a creative artiste and earnings are of no concern, then you might get tired of this "sales letter." But take heart, for on page 89 the author says, "OK, that's enough of a sales pitch!" Oh yeah?Today's authors are not only writers but also have to be self-promoters. If you recognize that, then you get all the concepts you'll need from this book to begin promoting. Yes, I got excited in reading this book on the "profit" part. I knew there would be an offer that would be hard to refuse. But until I sell, oh, about 2,000 books, I personally can't afford the offer. Perhaps you'll see it as beneficial to your career goals. I can't fault the results some of the graduates claim. Just remember--testimonials are always from the successful graduates, not the less successful or the failures!

A Marketing Pitch...
A few good ideas. This book is mostly a pitch for Koenig's Publish and Profit training program, costing about $4000. He writes, in fact that he considers a book to be a "sales letter." He is also demonstrating how readers can write a book to promote their businesses. While the book offers many good ideas for self-publishing and marketing both hardcopy and digital books, some are not clearly spelled out and would take technical expertise and marketing savvy most beginners don't possess - thus, that's why you should take the course. There is nothing wrong with using a book to market a training course - I just want other readers to know this upfront. Koenig states that he can show you how to take your Kindle book into "best seller" category, bringing in thousands of dollars. He stated that out of 39 people who took his course, 26 went on to publish their books and reach that achievement. Koenigs interviews five successful graduate at the end of the book and their stories are enjoyable reading.Koenigs includes information about how to promote your book through building a mailing list, videos, podcasts, social media and how to make additional income from speaking engagements and community events. After reading all these recommendations, I realized I would never have the time, energy, expertise, staff, connections, technical skills, or money to implement most of them. Frankly, I've decided to invest my training dollars elsewhere, because there was something about his marketing approach that seems just too slick for me. His is not the kind of books I want to write. On the plus side, Koenigs writes with a crisp, motivating, optimistic style and seems to engage the reader well. I wish him and everyone who reads his book success in their writing and publishing their books.

How to grind out books like sausages
It contains a few useful points, repeated many times. The author is shamelessly pushing his own products and community: "anyone can make money through publishing their own book, but only if you do it through my system". My own observation: yes, you can write a book in just a few hours; but if you do, it shows.

Glorified Sales Brochure
Full of wonderful testimonials about how great it is to work with him and how great it can be to "publish (a sales pitch) and profit". VERY light on actual content. Blatant sales pitches throughout, which, yes, many non-fiction books are and contain, but the author was too lazy to even try to disguise the sales pitches to any degree.Consider this a glorified sales brochure. To the author: At least make it SEEM like you respect your reader by taking the time to artfully disguise your sales pitches and provide more than a molecule of content even though you're really just trying to sell them. I want you to make me feel as if you actually care, even though I really know you just want to F*** me.If anything, the reader can use this book as an example of what a blatant sales pitch looks like when disguised as a book. Unfortunately, it works on some unfortunate souls. The title should be "Publish and Profit: How to Produce a Next-Generation Sales Brochure Thinly Disguised as an Actual Book and Ruin Your Reputation in the Process"

Message on a Silver Platter
"Publish and Profit" is a living book for active entrepreneurs to engage in moving their enterprise forward to the next level by publishing their WHAT to moving their HOW and broadcasting their big WHY message to the WHO "everywhere now" so as to magnetize positive ions to the right audience in the right marketplace and at the right time. How powerful is that? Mike Koenings is handed down by word-of-mouth with accolades on a silver platter. That's more powerful than any sales pitch.

Not a good example...
"Publish and Profit" is exactly the kind of book that Mike Koenigs proposes you should write to extablish yourself as an authority and get hordes of customers stampeding your way...and it certainly doesn't work for me.Some nuggets:"Every chapter must have a call-to-action for readers to go to your website, text, email or call you" - I find this blatantly irritating"A 4-hour dictation gives enough material for a 120-140 page book" - Sure it can, but usually not if you edit it properly"You can outsource transcribing and editing" - You might. But I would assume that you as the author and authority do have to spend a fair amount of time editing too.I've given it two stars because there were a few factual finds in there, but in general the self-inflating tone grates...

Good read.
This book contains a lot of interesting Information, unfortunately the links to the Website don't work in (my) the kindle Version. I don't think that everyone who reads it would write a book but if you are genuinely interested in doing so then this may be a help for you. It is also a sales book for the courses from Mike Koenigs which I am sure are very good. All in all I enjoyed it and found some of the tips useful.
