Acctim Rialto Stylish Radio Controlled Alarm Clock Displaying Time Alarm Time/Date and Indoor Temperature

My husband needed this as a bedroom clock. It was easy to set up, unlike another clock that we tried and the display is readable at night, too. He uses the electric option, but battery can be used.

This is a clock with a large display and loads of information on the screen. It also sets the time/date itself which is great.But if used in a bedroom, next to a sleeper, it's too BRIGHT.The way to change display brightness is to tap the snooze button but its not easy to see when the setting has changed.There appears to be available settings that are either OFF, Bright, DIM. Possibly AUTO.But which you get to set seems to be pot luck and how long you press etc.I managed to get to OFF too many times.The dim setting, if that is where I got to, is not dim, its less bright than BRIGHT. Its set to the dimmest I could get to apart from Off. But still too bright.The one extra for us is that others have said that its not possible to change from 24 to 12 hour clock.The setup booklet seems to suggest that it is now possible but I've yet to try it.The other comment would be the power cord. A simple thing but as the clock is so light it matters.The cable is not a soft pliable one but a stiff plastic and resists tidying and placing the clock where it needs to be due to the stiffness, the clock being so light it moves easily.I've kept the clock as its probably the best one that we could find that sets the time itself, has the things we want to display etc.But disappointed that this clock does not have better dimming functionality.

THE LOW SETTING BRIGHTNESS LEVEL NEEDS TO BE FURTHER DIMMED. THE NUMBERS ARE REALLY TOO BIG AND REDUCING THEIR SIZE WOULD IN ITSELF REDUCE THE BRIGHTNESS LEVEL. OTHERWISE IT SEEMS TO DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN. THE PRICE SEEMS QUITE HIGH BUT PERHAPS IT HAS HIGH QUALITY COMPONENTS INSIDE WHICH ARE BETTER THAN THE CHEAPER MODELS AND WHICH ARE NOT EVIDENT TO THE PURCHASER. TIME WILL TELL!

I use it as a mantle-piece clock for time keeping in my acupuncture clinic. Nice large display of the time and other lesser relevant information are in smaller font and lighter shades of colour, so they do not crowd the information in one glance.

A little difficult setting up the radio operated clock.

The alarm clock is nice looking. Very easy to set up and bright. It has a dimmable backlight to adjust brightness. Worth paying a bit extra for. Useful it changes the time for the summer and winter automatically too.

Great alarm clock, very clear and I particularly like that the alarm time is displayed when it is on (in place of the date).The only negative is that the 12h am/pm clock setting comes with the US date format (24h clock has the UK date format). Silly part of the design, but not a deal-breaker and still the best radio controlled alarm clock I could find.The radio controlled time feature doesn’t work in the bedroom I want to use it, but neither do other such clocks (but will work in the adjacent bedroom). I am in the south of the UK.

I love this little clock. I was fed up having to alter the clocks back and forth. As mine broke I bought this. It does everything they say it does. Just plug in and go. You don’t have to set anything. It even has a back up battery with large display, and alarm, it was just what i needed. Highly recommend.
