How great this cookware is … a league all its own!
At first I started a return and decided to keep both pans…very glad I did as the beauty and cooking evenly are so worth what you need to do to maintain them. The product is a high class addition to my kitchen. I will not be returning them. Thank you!

Super giftable with big wow factor unboxing!
Wow, if you were ever looking for a gift from Amazon for someone, this is it. I think it was triple boxed. Outer AMZ box, inner brown cardboard box, then unbelievable but the next box is in the marigold color that MATCHES the Caraway stir fry pan! It's all a huge presentation! Your recipient would be wowed for sure. I was.The marigold color for those not familiar with it is a brighter, happier version of the '70s harvest gold. It's definitely cheery (like the flower it's named after) and a statement piece. Heck, you could leave this on your stovetop as a conversation piece. The interior is light grey and smooth. None of that "stone texture" popular in non-stick these days. It screams "be careful" and don't use metal spatulas. :) Silicone instruments only. The silver handle feels great for us sensory folks. Nice weight. Ergonomic. The handle doesn't get hot, so no hot pad needed. Overall, the weight of the entire stir-fry pan is substantial but easily liftable for arthritic hands/wrists.Caraway always gets mixed reviews, and some complain that their pan lost its nonstick. After a lot of research and having my own nonstick (various companies) you really have to treat these pans like babies. Be tender and gentle. Clean by hand with a washcloth. Dry it and put it away/hang it up without some other pan nesting in it to scratch it. Silicone utensils only. Never cut meat in the pan or it will scratch. These are not meant for knock around usage. Just keep thinking it's a baby not a teenager. The ultimate scorch and clean up test are scrambled eggs. They are the worst to get off of stainless-steel pans. This pan passed the test with flying colors. Caraway says this is forever-chemical free and that is the BIGGEST plus in my book! They say it's "ceramic". I have no idea, just going off what they say. But I can tell you it is super nonstick. The product description never stated what TYPE of cooktop you can use it on. I have induction. Well, it worked like a charm. I assume by Caraway not stating surface types it means it can be used on any surface (gas, electric, induction). They give you a sponge eraser (almost like a magic eraser) which I found odd, but I guess they know that eventually you may run into stuck food--or a stain?? However, my experience is that rehydrating the dried food (aka soaking) gets it off. I also try to clean mine fairly quickly after use. Letting food sit is the troublemaker.Notes included in the box state that low to medium heat is preferred and the pan will "hold" that heat. Avoid high heat as that tends to "wear away the coating." Caraway has been around for quite a while and is a leader in this product space, so I feel safe that it is non-toxic.In terms of the "high" sides, I didn't find them super high like a Chinese restaurant wok where you can move some cooked items up on the angle. Caraway labeled this "wok-inspired" which means, it's not a wok! This is higher than a traditional skillet so it will hold more meat/veggies/noodles in one cooking. I'm looking forward to trying some ramen and Korean dishes in it.The price is $125, and it seems pricey, but that is the going rate for quality cookware. If you treat your baby well, it will age nicely. I recommend this if you love the color and the cooking opportunity.
