Classy, sophisticated, masculine, not lumberjack.
I’ve been trying to wear more cologne lately because I no longer have to worry about sneaking up on people. I’m not one of those club guys with the open shirt and Italian horn necklace, but I do want to smell good for my wife, as well as when I’m out and about. This cologne was a gamble because I haven’t been able to get a whiff of it anywhere locally. It’s sold in some very posh places, but nothing near me.A gamble, yes, but not a long shot. This is an actual Parisian cologne, and a quick internet search of the brand revealed a write-up by a well-respected authority that convinced me that this was the real deal. This isn’t a cheap-o brand that might be driving a pink Cadillac and knocking on your door; this will be a big name in the perfume world. But how can I describe it? The brand itself says it’s “a vibrant green opening contrasted by the bitterness of grapefruit enriched by woody facets of tonka bean, vetiver, oud and leather.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t understand most of that. I have no clue what a tonka bean, vetiver, or oud smell like, and it seems like gibberish to me.To make matters worse, they add “OLFACTIVE PYRAMID - Head: Violet leaves, Lemon, Grapefruit. Heart: Geranium, Clary Sage, Lavender. Base: Oud, Vetiver, Tonka Bean, Leather” Whaa??As a normal, everyday man, none of that tells me what I’m going to smell like once I spray it on. I asked my wife, who is much smarter than I am in these matters, and she said, “I really like the smell, and it’s better than your other colognes.” (Sa-fari for men, and Wr-angler 1947, both of which I like.) She added, “This Beatus Paris Haute Futaie smells classy, sophisticated, and masculine. But not like a lumberjack, like one of your others.”In fact, she likes it so much she puts it on herself sometimes when she’s working around the house. And that might be the strongest reason for me to wear it. If the women really like it, I’m in. I mean, isn’t that why we’re wearing it in the first place??Get some. It's pricey, for sure. But even with my alligator arms, I think it's worth it. I don't mean to sound like a fanboy, but if my wife loves it, that's all I need.I hope this helps.

not a good value.
First off i'll start with the price. No. Way too expensive, $127 for an off brand cologne is a hard no. As for the branding it is simplistic and on par with brand name styling but the scent isn't close. Saying the word OUD and actually having an oud scent are completely different. I have many fragrances, especially ones from overseas that have oud and can be distinguished apart from this one for sure. The atomizer sprays nicely, some might say it's over spraying but that's by preference.

masculine appeal
This perfume has a masculine elegant fragrance. The sophisticated woody smell is a good choice for men's fragrance and appeal. I have a number of perfume that I rotate. I have some sweet and refreshing ones, one cologne for everyday use so I'm pretty versatile on what I like. I personally like this fragrance for its masculine appeal but not overpowering smell. I've asked several friends and they liked the fragrance too. This is an eau de parfum which lasts longer than the typical cologne/perfume.It's a bit pricey but if you're into this woody leather masculine fragrance then this is for you.

An interesting newcomer to the personal fragrance scene
This stuff smells great, and has some interesting notes to it. The price of $125 seems like a fair start with this cologne; as it does compare to other fragrances I've used around that range. The scent lasts most of the day too, so that's a big plus for me. From my experience, colognes are usually a hit or miss with people depending on your tastes, but for me this one was a hit. Overall I would buy it again, but they should offer a sample pack to purchase with all their scents for men or women, that way we can choose our favorites.

Strong scent is lasting, seems to be a quality product
This is an average product for me, not bad, just a solid average 3 stars. If you want a quality product where the scent lasts, and does not smell cheap, and the bottle holds a lot, then this is a great value. I retained the scent even after rinsing the wrists liberally when i was testing it. And one spritz goes a long way.The atomizer makes a fine mist, but unfortunately sprays out too much at once-- coverage is too wide when spraying, so it's hard to control. More goes into the air than i expected. The listing says, "a vanilla perfume for women that features a rich base of cedarwood, amber, and patchouli." It also mentions black pepper, orange flower, and floral richness. I was REALLY wanting stronger notes of vanilla, cedar, and flowers after the description. Sadly, the amber and jasmine are way too overpowering, in my opinion, and i can't get the other notes in the smell. Patchouli is just a bad choice for a high end item, and i couldn't sense the black pepper.

Warm, Comfortable and Refreshing at the Same Time (overpowering, too)
I ordered this perfume for my wife (and for me since she would be wearing it). I very much like the smell. The first time I smelled it (just from smelling the cap) I thought it had a hint of caramel in the background of the scent, but I don’t know why I thought that now that I’m more used to it I don’t catch that echo. It’s a warm and comfortable scent but it is also a bit refreshing at the same time. Whatever it is (and my sense of smell isn’t all that acute since the first time I had Covid-19), I like it.But I do have one criticism. My wife has put on a single spray of this and the scent is overpowering. She put it on, and we drove over to my daughter’s home. I wanted to open the car window to get some fresh air. But when we got to my daughter’s house, she loved the perfume on my wife. Neither my daughter or my wife thought it was too strong. So, make of that what you will! You already know that my sense of smell is off. I still like it, and so my wife is going to spray it on a tissue or cotton ball and dab some on from that. I appreciate her, and that’s just one of the many reasons why (and why I was glad to get this perfume for her!).
