Q: Do these slip on the seat? Or do they stay put? They don'ts to have any kind of straps or ties.

They do come with non-slip backing. But they do roll up a bit when getting in to the car for me but is not a huge problem. I just adjust it after I’m seated.

Q: The product detail says this product is 8 x 6? does it cover the whole seat?

I've used it in 3 cars; fits well; have had it for over 1 yr; still in good shape; move it from car to car when I make longer trips.
