The stem I ordered needed this spring to operate the percolator. With this spring I was saved from buying a new percolator. Apparently the stem and spring got thrown in the trash. Grateful for spare parts!!

I had not used my Farberware 8-cup percolator (FCP 280-A) for many years and had forgotten a spring was attached to the stem. At first I just ordered the stem (also from Goodman's) which produced horribly weak coffee. When I realized I needed the spring, I ordered it and it is a perfect match! It would be helpful--for customers like me--if the first line in the description stated-- in bold--that a matching spring is absolutely necessary.

This replacement spring is better than my original one.
The spring is substantial in thickness. Not too springy. My coffee ground basket sits firm in place. So no more coffee ground mess floating in my cup!

Great replacement for my percolator
Received on time and fits perfectly for my percolator. I've been using for two months and no problems. Easy to attach and does not fall off when washing. Good purchase.
